Wings Over Kenya

This is the ultimate way to enjoy a luxury safari through Kenya. Our flying safari visits three outstanding locations Samburu in the semi-arid north, Mount Kenya on the equator and the Masai Mara, which can’t be missed on any safari to Kenya. You will enjoy three flights and stay at small, luxury safari camps in these wildlife sanctuaries including the private Ol Pejeta sanctuary. You also have a Wildlife Safari 4WD vehicle and expert guide for all your game viewing activities as well as a number of “Exclusive Experiences” at no additional cost on this private journey.

Day 1: Nairobi

Hemingways Nairobi

Arrive in Nairobi where your Wildlife Safari manager will meet and escort you to your hotel. Enjoy safari briefing followed by a welcome dinner at your hotel this evening.

Day 2 & 3: Samburu

Larsens Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Morning flight to Samburu, flying past Mount Kenya. Your Wildlife Safari vehicle and guide will meet you on arrival and transfer you to your luxury safari camp along the Uaso Nyiro River. Your large tents are well appointed with a deck overlooking the river. Another full day of game viewing in Samburu, home to the rare reticulated giraffe, the long necked Gerenuk, the Grevy’s zebra and the Beisa Oryx.

Day 4 & 5: Mount Kenya

Sweetwaters Tented Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

An early breakfast and drive south, stopping at the Equator. Arrive at Ol Pejeta, one of the few private wildlife sanctuaries in the country located on the plains of Mount Kenya. Once the private property of a former billionaire, it’s now owned by a conservation organization, with the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya and an important rhino breeding facility. Your luxury tented camp overlooks a floodlit waterhole and the snow capped summit of Mount Kenya in the distance. You have two days to enjoy this sanctuary with optional night game viewing.

Day 6: Maasai Mara

Kichwa Tembo Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Breakfast and transfer to the airstrip and fly over the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara. Your Wildlife Safari vehicle and guide will meet you on arrival and drive you to your luxury safari camp for the next three days. Located where the riverine forest meets the sweeping plains in the path of the awe inspiring Great Migration, Kichwa Tembo Camp provides an authentic dose of African wildlife, delivered with legendary Kenyan hospitality. Lunch at your Camp and in the afternoon a game viewing drive in the Masai Mara.

Day 7 & 8: Masai Mara

Kichwa Tembo Camp (Breakfast)

Two unsurpassable days of game viewing in the Masai Mara following herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, eland, topi, impala and other plains species whose numbers swell during the annual migration from the Serengeti, the greatest wildlife show on earth. The big cats, lion, leopard and cheetah are found in greater concentrations than anywhere else and looking to pounce if the opportunity arises. Herds of giraffe and elephant create a magical silhouette against the treeless savannah while hippo and crocodile coexist in the Mara and Talek Rivers. Your guide may suggest an extended game viewing drive, travelling much further away from other vehicles and visitors, with a special picnic lunch from your camp. Optional dawn hot air balloon excursion is available.

Day 9: Depart Nairobi

Depart Nairobi(Breakfast)

A final early morning game viewing drive, followed by our special “breakfast with the hippo” along the Talek River in the sanctuary. Transfer to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi, where your Wildlife Safari guest manager will meet and escort you to Nairobi airport for your departing flight or extend your stay with an overnight in Nairobi, at additional cost.
