
Day 1 Arrival and
Transfer to Kampala
You will be met
at the airport by our safari guide who will transfer you
to the hotel reserved for you in Entebbe. Dinner and
overnight will be at this hotel. Then be ready for the
trip in the early morning. We shall depart very early in
the morning and head to Lake Mburo.
Day 2 Travel to
Lake Mburo National Park and Boat ride
You will set off
after breakfast for the Lake Mburo National Park in the
western part of the country. You will have a stopover at
the Mpigi Drum Makers village to see how the Royal drums
are made using traditional methods that have been handed
down over generations. Another stopover will be at the
Equator for photos at this international landmark where
you will also watch the mesmerizing water experiments
conducted at the spot where the two hemispheres divide.
You will continue the drive through the rolling hills
and plains dotted with community homesteads and herds of
the long horned Ankole cattle to Lake Mburo National
Park. You will arrive in time for an afternoon boat ride
and later retire for dinner and overnight at your booked
lodge.
Day 3 Game drive
in Mburo and transfer to Bwindi
You will wake up
early and set off for a morning game drive to enjoy the
rich biodiversity of this small park that boasts of the
large herds of zebra, impala, gigantic eland, topis and
a variety of bird species. You will return to the lodge
for a late breakfast and hit the road again for Bwindi
Forest National Park, arriving in the evening. Dinner
and overnight will be at the lodge of your booking.
Day 4 Gorilla
trekking in Bwindi and cultural tour
You will have an
early morning breakfast and move to the Park
headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about
the gorilla trekking rules at 7:45 am. You will trek
through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides
to find the Gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours. The
steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but
crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access
by tourists. You will have one hour to stay with the
Gorillas once sited before returning to your lodge. Time
allowing you will go for a guided community walk to
experience the livelihoods of the local communities. You
will visit a traditional herbalist to see how he
prepares native medicine to treat a wide array of human
sicknesses, see a black smith manufacturing local tools
used in everyday life and see how local beer is brewed
using local methods. You will also be entertained by the
traditional dances offered by the community. Dinner and
overnight will be at your lodge of booking.
Day 5 Travel to
Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat cruise
You will after
breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through
the beautiful scenery of this part of the country
characterized by gigantic hills and steep valleys of
volcanic origin. You will get to Queen Elizabeth through
the southern part of the park (Ishasha sector) renowned
for the tree climbing lions and have lunch at one of the
lodges before continuing to the centre of the park. You
will arrive in time for an afternoon boat cruise along
the Kazinga channel where you will enjoy a close view of
a variety of water animals and birds. You will have
dinner and overnight at the lodge of your booking.
Day 6 Game drive
and travel to Kampala
You will wake up
early and go for an early morning game drive. The park’s
diverse ecosystem of grassy plains, tropical forest,
rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an
incredible abundance of wildlife. You will see
buffaloes, lions, elephants and other wild life in their
natural habitat after which you will return to the lodge
for a late breakfast and transfer to Kampala arriving
late in the afternoon.
