This safari to track Gorillas and see other animals in Queen Elizabeth starts and ends in Kampala. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most popular tourist destination, offering breathtaking scenery and an abundance of wildlife. The park is home to over 600 varieties of bird and 95 mammal species, including lion, elephant, hippo, leopard, buffalo, hyena, warthog and various antelope.

Day 1 Transfer to queen Elizabeth National park

After breakfast you will be met by our company driver/guide at your hotel and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park with a picnic lunch to enjoy along the route. You will enter the park for your first game drive where you will search for warthog, elephant, topi, Cape buffalo and many tropical birds. Later in the evening you will check-in at the Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2 Game Drive and Boat ride on kazinga Chanel

After an early morning breakfast you will take off for a morning game drive within the park where you will see the famous “Big Five”, including buffalo, elephant, lion. You will also see the giant forest hog, bushbuck, kob, hyena and waterbuck. After lunch you will launch from the dock on a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel. On the cruise you will see large numbers of elephant, hippo, buffalo and crocodile; as well as a large number of bird species, including the rare shoebill. Later in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3 Chimpanzees Tracking and Transfer To Kisoro

After a very early morning breakfast, head to Kalinzu Forest around 6-00 am for Chimpanzee tracking to meet man’s closet cousins in the wild. You will be amazed to see these primates as they play, swing on tree branches, fight for food etc. We stop in Kabale for lunch, during this journey we will stopping for a few moments to mark the occasion, taking some photographs. We arrive at in kisoro late in the afternoon after passing through some of the most stunning scenery in the region and check in at the Lodge for a well-earned evening meal and a good night’s rest.

Day 4 Mountain Gorillas trekking

After an early breakfast Drive to the park Station where you will assemble at 8.30am for a briefing. After completing the briefing, you'll embark on the once in a lifetime experience of tracking the enigmatic mountain gorillas. After the briefing, our tour guide will transfer you to the starting point of the gorilla trek. The trek may last from 2 to 6 hours depending on the movements of the gentle giants. One of the most memorable experiences you're likely to ever have, you'll be allowed an hour of close contact with the gorillas once you've found them. You'll be privileged enough to come within mere metres of a family of these rare and beautiful animals, observing their family dynamics and getting to learn a bit about each gorilla's distinct personality in serene silence. At the end of your time with the gorillas we return to your Hotel for some refreshments, Dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Drive Back To kampala

After a restful night, take you breakfast and set off for Kampala with our picnic food, arriving Late in the afternoon.

Optional Trip Extension. You may opt to go on to D.R Congo or Rwanda to track the other well-known gorilla families while you are in the region.
